Suggestive location at the end of Valmalenco, with a large parking lot along the river but which fills up quickly. Beautiful forest, ideal for picnics with many hiking trails: taking the direction for the Tartaglione refuge we continued towards the Ventina glacier, but when the trail became wilder with crossings of stones we returned.

Two proposals: a very simple one: take the Chiesa cable car (980m - 2080m) to reach Lake Palù (1921m), go around the lake (40 minutes) and stop at the Rifugio of the same name for lunch. From the cable car arrival point, the first part of the descent towards the lake can also be done with an inclined lift, like a funicular.

To reach the lake on foot, the path starts from the locality of San Giuseppe, beyond the town of Chiesa. and it takes about an hour and a half.

Aprica - Malga Magnolta – Lake Palabione -  (2109m) mappa

Starting from Aprica you go up using the Magnolta cable carThat reachedg and the altitude of 1900 meters. From here into the woods that goes up to Malga Magnolta for refreshment and excellent views. From here a path pflattering except the last stretch will lead to the dam(first lake) which forms Lake Palabione. You can go down the ski slopevery leaning to complete the circular route.

Valgerola - Pescegallo lake (1862m)   map

Departure on foot from the Pescegallo Village (1459m). It is a small ski resort with lifts currently closed. You can reach the dam  which forms the Pescegallo lake via a path or along the dirt road and therefore less steep. Unfortunately, due to the drought, the lake is reduced to a stony ground. From here in about half an hour you can reach the Rifugio Salmurano with a few ups and downs.

Madesimo Motta - Sanctuary of Our Lady of Europe  map

Motta can be reached on foot or by shuttle from Madesimo or by funicular from Campodolcino. Proceed on the path to Lake Azzurro and Madonna d'Europe.
Motta is a ski resort, for which there are accommodation and refreshments. Even in winter, the lack of snow allowed us to reach the large statue by climbing through the meadows. Spectacular panorama. In Madesimo it is worth the walk along the river illuminated in the evening.

Departure on foot from San Martino, parking just in the village on the left while on the right the valley can be crossed on foot from both sides of the stream. Beautiful walk through meadows, woods and waterfalls, flat with various refreshment points. To admire the "Bidet della contessa", a small lake with crystal clear waters where the surrounding mountains are reflected. After about an hour and a half you go up with a steep slope for another hour and a half to reach the Belvedere Pioda point with a beautiful waterfall just above.   26-06-2021

Departure on foot from the Sasso Remenno di S. Martino area. It is a fun route of about an hour and a half between granite stones with short passages with ropes, to be done on dry ground. The place is famous as a rock climbing wall. Packed lunch. We then continued to the right of the stream for a quiet cycle and pedestrian path to the village of Val Masino.

Departure on foot from Gerola Alta. To reach the Pescegallo village (1450m) you go up along the stream, full of waterfalls and with some walls equipped for climbing. We continued to Lake Trona, which was not reached, however, due to the presence of snow. The climb was tiring but the place deserves it. Only during the descent, following the path to Fenile, did we waste time for the not always clear signs. Packed lunch.
