Valgan waterfallsbut they can be found therealong the provincial road after Induno Olona. Very beautiful even in winter when they are frozen.
From the car park there is a path that leads to the town of Bregazzana: from here on a dirt road that climbs gently you arrive at Mount Chiusarella, finding yourself right in front of the Sacro Monte di Varese. Wantingor you can continue to Mount Martica. The whole area is part of the Campo dei Fiori Regional Park.

Agra - Path of the Sun map

The Path of the Sun is a short and simple walk through the woods of Agra, with panoramic points of Lake Maggiore. and viale Europa and walk towards Bedoré, until you find the signs for the Sentiero del Sole, a ring tour of just over an hour. Unfortunately the bad weather and the winter season did not make us appreciate the place.  
Final walk on the lake in Luino.

Sanctuary of San Clemente map

Departure on foot from Sangiano taking via Monte Nero The Sanctuary of San Clemente, isolated on a peak of Monte Sangiano, dominates Lake Maggiore. Whole walk in the woods, wide view after about an hour of walking.
Lunch in Ispra at Caffè Vespucci, excellent Fusion menu and excellent location on the lake with outdoor seating.  
Walk of Love on the lakefront not relevant.

Departure on foot from Mercallo, A 12 km cycle / pedestrian path  goes around the lake for the pleasure of runners. Very quiet place,   excellent for keeping in training until winter. Lunch on the lake at the restaurant "da Cesarino" super pampered by the talented cook and the only customers present.

Porto Ceresio - Cadorna Line map

Departure on foot from Cuasso al Monte. The route is a circular one: it is necessary to reach Alpe della Croce and the Sasso Paradiso to enjoy the panoramic point of Lake Lugano. On the way back, follow the so-called "Cadorna Line": these are the remains of a defensive line formed by trenches, bunkers and fortifications, commissioned by the Chief of Staff Luigi Cadorna in anticipation of possible attacks on the border during the Great War. we concluded with the classic lakeside walk in Porto Ceresio.

Campo dei Fiori Velate Park - Orino map

Departure from Velate via dei Piatti, path 10a up to Orino for lunch (from Lalla and Andrea, simple good and cheap). Very long route with few gradients, some difficulties on the way back to take the right direction at the intersections with the other paths. The route is always in the woods, without views, useful for a good workout.

Sacro Monte - Monte Tre Croci - Brinzio map

Departure on foot from Velate, ascent to the Sacro Monte, a sanctuary with a 2 km route with 12 chapels and a characteristic and very panoramic village. Continuing for Monte Tre Croci you reach the Grand Hotel, a hotel complex built a century ago but in a state of neglect for fifty years. Going back to the Motta Rossa pass, take the path to the Brinzio lake until you reach the village itself, a holiday center within the Campo dei Fiori Park. On the way back we took the carriageway passing through Rasa di Varese.

Laveno-Mombello - Sasso del ferro (1062m) map

From Laveno-Mombello on Lake Maggiore you can climb Mount Sasso del ferro either on foot or by cable car: in the second case, being the arrival station at Poggio sant'Elsa (949m), it takes another 20 minutes to reach the summit. At the Poggio, beyond the restaurant, the view is fantastic, while at the top it is hidden by trees.
