The destination of this excursion is an impressive abbey located on Mount Pirchiriano, at the entrance to the Susa Valley.
Departure from Mortara to reach the Sacra di San Michele with a height difference of 300 m. on a wide, mostly flat and panoramic path.
For a more challenging route you can go up from the municipality of Sant'Ambrogio, church of San Giovanni Vincenzo, 600 m. of altitude difference.
Also recommended is the medieval historic center of Avigliana with its panoramic fortress and walk on the walkway along part of Lago Grande.

Departure on foot from Montalto Dora - taking via Casana next to the Town Hall. Reached Lake Pistorno with beautiful views of the Montalto Dora Castle we continued on the path to Lake Sirio where you can choose between various ring routes around the lakes.
Particular and fun is the place called Terre ballerine where a layer of peat rests on a surface of water: by jumping you have the effect of the trampoline thus causing the movement of the adjacent trees.
Lunch at the Venus pizza restaurant in Montalto with little choice but good quality and very cheap.
